Social Media Revolution

Seemingly the hot topic at the minute, this commission from The Diplomat came in shortly after I completed the Facebook monster for Contagious. Talking about the uprise of social media and it's use in revolutions in the middle east, and also the helpfulness of a tool such as Twitter when used in an emergency relief effort such as the Haiti disaster.

Taking my stand from Eugene Delacroix's "La Liberté guidant le peuple" here's the final result.

Royal Occassions at The Boathouse

Classy as ever we went with "Kate Loves Willy" as the header for The Boathouse's Royal Wedding celebrations. It ties in with a new brew by the local Skinners brewery who have done a special ale to commemorate the day by the same name.

I've also been working on their new summer postcards recently too. You can see the final design below. Bizarrely they also turned out to be quite Regal without me thinking about it:

Facebook - An Inflation of Effectiveness - Contagious Magazine

Contagious Magazine recently discussed whether users of Facebook were consciously avoiding adverts placed on its platform by other brands. Introducing the DG-9000: The Future of Dog Grooming

My Mum and Dad have this enormous prize-winning Leonberger that takes days to wash and dry. As it's her birthday I thought I'd send over a card with a typically Heath Robinson/English Garden Shed solution to cut down her grooming time.

Eastern Promise

Here's an image I've been sitting on for a while. It was produced for Diplomat magazine's April issue.

The corresponding article was about the problems of consumption we'll face when the fast growing Eastern countries catch up to the needs of the Western world, specifically in terms of oil.

Skull wearing Prada

This is a piece that was suspended in development due to time constraints but I quite liked the drawing. The glasses in this piece are from Prada's latest range of eyewear.

Forced to Move

With the new plans to cap housing allowance we could start seeing a lot of families having to move out of the more expensive parts of the country, especially areas of London, and move to cheaper areas. Inside Housing Magazine asked me for a piece of artwork on this topic. Here's what appears in this weeks issue:

A good old-fashioned Beer

I produced this tankard for the newly opened Port Street Beerhouse in Manchester. It's hanging on their walls looking lovely right now. Their beers are top quality too, I can see it being my new home.

Scholars, Come Home

I've been working with The Times Higher Education magazine again. This weeks piece was about Chinese academics choosing to work abroad causing a Chinese "Brain Drain"

New self-promotional piece

I've been using the man riding the hippo stagecoach as promotional material for some time now and thought it time I produced something else. Here's the new one:
