The End is Nigh they tell us. This Friday, in line with the Mayan predictions The Boathouse is throwing the party to end all...

Cornish Ale, Cider and Cheese Festival - The Boathouse
True to form The Boathouse is holding another night that I wish I could go to. Ale, Cider and Cheese in one night sounds pretty idyllic.
Alas, I can't, I live too far away but here's the poster I designed for it.

Foxy Nuggets
This summer I've been busy creating artwork without the help of the beloved Photoshop. It makes a change having some actual finished artwork physically in the studio rather than the usual print outs. More soon to follow...

The Grand National
It seems I only got halfway through posting this one last time round:
The Boathouse pub in Falmouth will of course be showing the Grand National this weekend. I went for a horse jumping the iconic “Chair”

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer - "Dead Cat."
Going through Tom Sawyer I couldn't help but take a little bit of time to draw something up based on this exchange. I'd like a bit more gore on the cat I must admit but I'm producing pieces at the minute for my portfolio to appeal to publishers hence the omission. Here's the text:
Tom hailed the romantic outcast:
Tom hailed the romantic outcast:
"Hello, Huckleberry!"
"Hello yourself, and see how you like it."
"What's that you got?"
"Dead cat."
"Lemme see him, Huck. My, he's pretty stiff. Where'd you get him ?"
"Bought him off'n a boy."
"What did you give?"
"I give a blue ticket and a bladder that I got at the slaughter-house."
"Where'd you get the blue ticket?"
"Bought it off'n Ben Rogers two weeks ago for a hoop-stick."
"Say - what is dead cats good for, Huck?"
"Good for? Cure warts with."
As I'm making work for publishing I thought I'd do a Black and White version too

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer - Tom and Huck Witness a Grave-Robbing
Another in the series of Tom Sawyer pieces I'm working on at the minute, this time an interior.
Here Tom and Huck have gone down to the grave of Hoss Williams with Huck's newly acquired dead cat and bear witness to a grave robbing (and a whole lot more.)

The Evolution of Snow White - Florida Times-Union
With Snow White all the rage in Hollywood at the minute, the Florida
Times-Union decided to do an article discussing her rise to fame. I was
happy to be able to oblige on the illustration for it.

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer - Mark Twain
I've been working on a lot of new work recently in time for London Book Fair. Tom Sawyer was one of the classics I thought I'd take on and here's how his cover's turned out. More B&W interior illustrations to come, but all in time.

Happy Bearthday
It was my sister's birthday recently so I drew her this. She's a big fan of pink and teddy bears - notably the ridiculously expensive Steiff ones hence the design here. I'd also just been watching a program on grizzlies.
N.B. The pun on Birthday only makes sense if you have a northern accent where Bear is pronounced "Bir"

Are Governments Doing Enough to Save the Planet? - Diplomat Magazine
For the latest issue of Diplomat magazine I produced this piece to sit alongside and article that discussed the neglect that world governments were applying to green issues on the premise that there are more pressing issues at the minute. The argument was that stalling things any longer could leave things too late to fix.
